As if Anderson .Paak’s “Make It Better” wasn’t already perfect, he took it one step further by adding Smokey Robinson.
On Thursday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, the rapper was joined by the 79-year-old legend for his performance of the hit song and it was magical.
Kicking it off solo, Paak stood at the microphone with only his band at his side until the second verse when Robinson walked on stage and joined in on the vocals. The pair sang in unison and traded lines for the rest of the performance, perfectly melding two generations of R&B.
“Make It Better” hails from Paak’s fourth studio album Ventura, released in April. Alongside Robinson, the album also features guest vocals from Andre 3000, Brandy, Jazmine Sullivan, and Nate Dogg.
