While fans around the world may remember Luke Perry as Dylan McKay on the teen-hit drama “Beverly Hills, 90210”, his son Jack “Jungle Boy” Perry is remembering him as a supportive and loving father.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly with his “All Elite Wrestling” co-stars, Jack talks about the way his father showed up to all of his wrestling matches.
“On the way up, you gotta wrestle in a bunch of dingy buildings, warehouses, things like that. He came to all of them. He came and hung out,” Jack said of his father. “He wore a disguise a lot of the times. He’d be there in a mask of some sort watching.”
Thanks to Luke, Jack’s passion for wrestling started at a young age.
“We used to go to the shows, he’d take me down to the Staples Center and stuff like that. We’d watch MTV,” he shares. “He was just really excited. He loved wrestling when he was a kid and his favourite wrestler was actually Dusty Rhodes, which feels cool for me in a roundabout way.”
Jack’s co-stars also shared some anecdotes about the late actor.
“The first time I ever met [Jack], it was in a dungy place in San Francisco and his dad was there. He wasn’t in disguise but he was there and it was in a dungy place and [Jack] was paying his dues as a wrestler and that was many years ago,” Kia Stevens added.
Luke tragically passed away in March at the age of 52 after suffering a massive stroke.
