‘Vikings’ Returns Dec. 4, Get A Sneak Peek At The Explosive Final Season

The sixth and final season of “Vikings” is almost here.

Following the explosive season 5 finale, which saw the battle between half-brothers Bjorn (Alex Ludwig) and Ivar the Boneless (Alex Hogh Andersen), Bjorn struggles to fill his late father’s shoes as king of Kattegat in the all-new trailer above.

The epic saga continues throughout 20 compelling episodes, airing in two parts. The two-hour premiere airs on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, followed by eight episodes every Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on History. The remaining 10 episodes are scheduled to air in 2020.

“I always knew how ‘Vikings’ would end and, after 89 episodes, I truly believe the saga of Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons has been told and we are leaving our beloved fans with the proper and definitive ending they so deserve,” says creator Michael Hirst in a statement.

Additionally, series regular Katheryn Winnick, who plays Lagertha, will make her directorial debut for one of the episodes.

Along with the series return, ET Canada’s Carlos Bustamante takes viewers behind the scenes of the “Vikings” set, along with exclusive interviews with cast members in an all-new special “Vikings: Worlds at War”.

ET Canada’s special premieres Sunday, December 1, at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on HISTORY.
