Prince William and Kate Middleton hosted a secret meeting, which included Bill Gates.
The royal couple welcomed the Microsoft co-founder into their London home at Kensington Palace.
Are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joining forces with Gates?
The royal couple held the private meeting for their Royal Foundation, which Gates attended as the co-chairman and trustee of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the largest private foundation in the world. It has been estimated that Mr. Gates has given away approximately $35.8 billion to charity.
The meeting was not previously announced but was later recorded in the Court Circular, in which the daily royal engagements are listed.
The high-profile encounter occurred shortly after Prince Harry and Meghan’s names were stricken from the Royal Foundation website, stepping down from their role as founder patrons, making Will and Kate the principals.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex parted ways to create their own household and charity project earlier this year. The Will and Kate were left to focus on mental health, early years, young people, wildlife conservation, and the armed forces community through their Royal Foundation.
Despite the split, the royals have not ruled out working together.
In fact, they teamed up this week to launch the Every Mind Matters campaign, narrating voice-overs for the televised campaign. The initiative, driven by Public Health England and the NHS, strives to help those affected by poor mental health manage early symptoms.
