In Apple TV+’s upcoming limited series “Truth Be Told” Poppy Parnell (Octavia Spencer) is a podcaster and a former newspaper reporter. As seen in the trailer, Parnell covered a murder that help put Warren Cave (Aaron Paul) in jail. To date, Cave has been in prison for 18 years, 10 months, and 24 days. And he might be innocent.

Spencer portrays a woman who is coming to terms with the fact that she might have led the charge of someone who is wrongfully committed. But her character is not willing to let pride get in the way and ensures “I am for truth, no matter who tells it. I am for justice, no matter who it’s for — or against.”

“Truth Be Told” is created by Nichelle Tramble Spellman; produced by Spellman, Spencer, Reese Witherspoon, and Lauren Neustadter; and alongside Octavia stars, Lizzy Caplan, Elizabeth Perkins, Michael Beach, Mekhi Phifer, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood, and Ron Cephas Jones.

The show will be available on ApplyTV+ starting December 6, 2019.
