Little Mix could be giving “X-Factor” a run for its money.
A new report says Little Mix are in talks to host a new television talent show to compete with “X-Factor”. The girl group famously won season 8 of Simon Cowell’s U.K.-based reality competition.
“This show is huge for Little Mix but it will be a massive blow for Simon,” an insider reportedly told the Sun. “The ‘X Factor’ viewing figures have fallen for years but this could be the nail in the coffin.”
“Saturday night needs a new singing competition to freshen it up and, with Little Mix involved, this could well be it,” the insider continued. “The girls will be mentoring youngsters. They’re hoping their experience will mean they can create a group that can forge a genuine career.”
Contestants will “also be helped by people who have worked with Little Mix during their careers,” the insider explained.
Little Mix were coached by Cowell en route to their 2011 “X-Factor” win. They were subsequently signed to his Syco record label. Last November, they were dropped from the label after a reported issue with their management company.
