A homeless man whom Harry Styles alleged was stalking him has been found guilty.
The former One Direction member appeared at the Hedon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where he told the judge he felt “insecure” after receiving notes and money in his mailbox from a homeless man to whom he offered food.
According to BBC News, Styles, 25, saw 26-year-old Pablo Tarazaga-Orero sleeping “rough” outside his home in northwest London in March. After Styles bought him some vegan sandwiches, salads, and muffins, Tarazaga-Orero asked the singer to go to a restaurant while smirking.
While Styles said that he tried to cut contact with the man, he allegedly saw him nearly every day and now checks for “weak spots” in his home. He also said that the man began showing up at his local pub up to four times a week, entering “anywhere between a minute and two minutes after I arrived.”
“I’ve employed a night guard. I continue to lock my bedroom door at night,” Styles said in court.
Tarazaga-Orero told the court that the singer was trying to buy him with money and that he had a “vision” that the two would be together in Ireland. Styles denied these allegations and others which stated he wanted to go to a hotel with the man to “have some fun.”
In the end, the judge deemed Tarazaga-Orero an unreliable witness, saying that Styles was simply trying to help a young man who did not have a home in the winter.
Tarazaga-Orero will be sentenced on Oct. 21.
