Mike Johnson is moving on from Demi Lovato.
After being linked to the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer, the “Bachelorette” alum, 31, has his eyes on Keke Palmer. Johnson joined Palmer and her “Strahan, Sara, and Keke” co-hosts Michael Strahan and Sara Haines when he asked her out on live television.
“I made a mistake. I don’t like dating in the public,” Johnson began, referencing Lovato.
“But if I were to ask you on a date…,” he asked, turning to Palmer.
The “Hustlers” actress, who was clearly shocked and uncomfortable, turned to her co-hosts, hoping to change the subject: “Michael! What’s the next question?”
Strahan was the first to address Johnson’s cringe-worthy question, defending Lovato, “But Mike, I’m going to tell you something… Demi’s my girl and I love this one here. Now, you mess up and I’m coming for you.”
Palmer addressed the awkward interview with Johnson on Wednesday’s episode of the show. She listed the reasons she wouldn’t date Johnson.
“I get real spooked about entertainers or reality [stars]… I don’t know, it really scares me to date people in the industry. That’s No. 1,” Palmer explained. “No. 2: He asked me in front of everybody… I felt ambushed,” she admitted. “I felt like it was a big ol’ gag.”
