After starring in his mom’s Instagram video, three-year-old Ayaan Diop has caught the attention of Ellen DeGeneres.
A week ago, Ayaan’s mother Alissa Diop posted an adorable video of her young son reciting positive affirmations that he was taught to say when he was just two years old. In the video, he can be heard saying, “I am smart, I am blessed, I can do anything” while walking to school. Surprised that he already had it memorized and was repeating it without being told to, Alissa videotaped the sweet moment and shared it with her followers.

I taught Ayaan this positive affirmation on his 2nd Birthday last year. In hopes that he would one day memorize it, understand it and use it as a motivational tool whenever he needed it. Well he shocked me this morning. Out of no where he started repeating it, so I pulled out my phone. He ended (with enthusiasm lol) once we made it to our destination💙. So proud of the little boy he is growing into. #BlackBoyJoy #MorningAffirmation #PositiveAffirmation #Baby360Style #FroBaby #3YearOld #BoyMom #ToddlersOfInstagram
Now, Alissa, Ayaan and his father Alpha are talking about the viral video, which has six million views, with Ellen. The family stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday to share why positive affirmations are so important to them.
“It’s something that we don’t say quite every day,” Alissa explained, “but he knows it so well and I just wanted him to have something positive to say for himself.”
After surprising Ayaan with an impressive amount of “Toy Story” toys, the talk show host gifted the family, who are expecting another child, a cheque for $20,000, courtesy of Shutterfly.
