Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner are giving an inside look at the recording of the iconic song “Hakuna Matata” for Disney’s “The Lion King”.

In an exclusive ET Canada clip from the Blu-ray release of “The Lion King”, the actors talk the legacy of the original song and their new take on the classic.

“‘Hakuna Matata’ as a phrase has stayed with us in the decades since the original ‘Lion King’. That’s part of the cultural lexicon,” Eichner, who voices Timon, explains in the video. “So on the one hand, you don’t want to mess with it too much, but at the same time, we’re throwing in some jokes here and there. We want to put our spin on it.”

The video features footage of the actors in the recording studio as director Jon Favreau encourages Rogen to improvise some new lines around the song.

Now available in digital release, the “Hakuna Matata” clip is one of the extras included on the “Lion King” Blu-ray release, which is out on October 22.
