After being hit with backlash for slut-shaming Hannah Brown during a controversial episode of “The Bachelorette”, suitor Luke Parker is insisting his comments about her were misconstrued.
Parker relayed his side of the story in an interview with the “Reality Steve” podcast, insisting he was “confused” when she confessed to knocking boots with Peter Weber inside a windmill, after Parker claimed she told him she planned to abstain from sex until her wedding night.
“She told me she shared the same heart and convictions as me and she wanted to abstain from sex before marriage,” Parker told the podcast. “That’s why I’m so confused and that’s why you see the look on my face when she tells me about the windmill. I’m shocked.”
He continued: “If I was judging or slut-shaming, I would not be trying to do that at all.”
In fact, Parker alleged that there’s plenty of footage that producers chose not to air in which he explains he has no problem with Brown sleeping with other men on the show.
“I didn’t have an issue with it towards her,” he said. “It was the fact that she told me that was what she didn’t want to do.”
According to Parker, he has “like 30 witnesses” who can attest that Brown told him during his hometown date that she wasn’t planning to make use of the fantasy suites.
“Quote on quote, she says, ‘Please don’t judge me during the fantasy suite week, because I do not intend or plan on using them, the overnights for sex. I plan on using them to further the relationship through conversation,'” he said.
That’s why, Parker explained, he reacted the way he did, because he felt “caught off guard” and “shocked” by her admission.

“On the fantasy suite date dinner night in Greece, she’s telling me that she doesn’t want to have sex before marriage,” he said. “And then she drops all of this on me. And I’m sitting there and I’m like, well alright, if that’s something you don’t want to do and now you’re telling me you’ve done it.”
He added, “This is the path that now you’re on when you told me you wanna be on this path, let’s go on this path together, let’s make it work, let’s figure this thing out. And she’s looking at me like, uh-uh, go home.”
