Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith and Adrienne Banfield Norris are gearing up to tackle yet another controversial topic on “Red Table Talk”: transracial adoption.
In a new preview for Monday’s new episode of their Facebook Watch series, the co-hosts chat with Angela Tucker, a black woman who was adopted and raised by white parents.
“People often don’t admit this but a lot of black transracial adoptees look in the mirror and are surprised, when we look in mirror and see a black person,” she explained in a new clip.
“Because we’re so used to seeing white people and we see our parents and they’re white and we love them and then we see ourselves, like, oh yeah, I forgot, I’m black,” she continued.
Tucker later explained that while she doesn’t identify as white, “of course,” she says that it is still her “culture.”
The new episode of “Red Table Talk” drops on Facebook Watch on Monday.
