Lili Reinhart is coming to the defence of the Meghan Markle after the release of a clip from an upcoming TV documentary in which the Duchess of Sussex discusses the negative media reporting on her from British tabloids and the toll it took on her during her pregnancy.
In the clip, ITV “News At Ten” anchor Tom Bradby asks her about about Prince Harry feeling protective of her.
“Look, any woman especially when they are pregnant you’re really vulnerable and so that was made really challenging, and then when you have a newborn – you know…” she responds, becoming emotional.
“And especially as a woman, it’s a lot,” she adds. “So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed it’s, well…”
Reinhart took to Twitter to share the clip, along with some comments of her own.
“This breaks my heart,” she writes. “We live in such an entitled world these days. Everyone feels they have the right to scrutinize and judge. It’s disgusting.”
She added: “And if you’re one of those people who goes online to talk about women, whom you know nothing about, you need to check yourself.”
Reinhart isn’t the only prominent female to support Markle and her feelings of vulnerability at the hands of the media, with such women as Congresswoman Alexandria Oscasio-Cortez, Monica Lewinsky and Katie Couric all sharing their support.
