Jenna Dewan is getting real about the demise of her relationship with Channing Tatum.

The TV host, 38, who dropped her new wellness book Gracefully You: How to Live Your Best Life Every Day Tuesday, opened up about what went down before she and Tatum announced their split last year.

“I’d come to realize the dynamic I was in wasn’t serving me nor was it serving my daughter,” Dewan wrote in the new novel referring to the relationship and the former couple’s 6-year-old daughter Everly. “First and foremost I had to accept the realization this isn’t working and had moved into hurting.”

And since fans watched their romance blossom on screen, in 2006’s “Step Up”, it made their split even more difficult for Dewan.

“The public saw Channing and I in this idealized romanticized light,” she writes of that period. “This made things difficult for me because I like being as honest and real as I can.”

Meanwhile, both Dewan and Tatum have moved on. The former “World Of Dance” host is currently dating Tony Award-winning actor Steve Kazee, with whom she’s expecting her second child. And Tatum has publicly been dating Jessie J.
