It’s been a long wait, but Selena Gomez fans can finally enjoy some brand new music from the songstress.
On Tuesday, Gomez teased that her new single and music video “Lose You To Love Me” would be dropping Tuesday at midnight ET, and drop it did.
“Tonight,” she shared on social media. “9 p.m. PT/ 12 a.m. ET/ 4 a.m. GMT”
True to her word, the new video arrive on schedule, and can be viewed above.
While the brand new track is already beloved by fans, “Lose You To Love” got some love from a famous friend as well.
Taylor Swift, Gomez’s longtime pal, took to Instagram to praise the “Dead Don’t Die” actress.
“This song is a perfect expression of healing and my absolute favourite song she’s put out yet,” Swift wrote to her Instagram stories. “A triumph. I love you so much Selena Gomez.”
Fans are ecstatic for the new track, especially after an Internet troll accused Gomez of not writing her own music.
Julia Michaels, who is a co-writer on the upcoming single, quickly defended Gomez.
“I ‘dragged’ her just because I said she wrote zero songs,” the troll wrote, referring to an earlier tweet that said Gomez “did nothing” for her upcoming album. “Y’all really get pressed over nothing.”
“I can actually 100 per cent say that Selena is VERY much a songwriter. Coming from someone that has written with her multiple times,” the “Issues” singer hit back. “Please don’t comment on things you know nothing about. It’s extremely rude.”
Gomez has been teasing the lyrics for her new tune all week with posts that read, “I saw the signs and I ignored them,” and “I gave my all and they all know it,” among others.
