“Westworld” star Evan Rachel Wood is sounding off against the Academy in a new Twitter rant directed at the lack of diversity and award campaigning.
“Is anybody else excited to watch the same 12 people get nominated for Oscars this year?” she began her series of tweets.
Wood alludes to the lack of female directors in the awards race, addressing the past “#OscarsSoWhite” allegations when one follower pointed out Cynthia Erivo could be in the running for her role int he Harriet Tubman biopic, “Harriet”.

Wood also takes aim at the practice of actors and studios campaigning for awards and points out that the Hollywood system only allows a certain type of movie to get financed, dramatically limiting the kinds of movies in the conversation. She also extends that idea to female directors.

It is unclear what prompted her online rant, but Wood notes sharing her thoughts might mean she never takes home a statuette herself.
“Also let’s just go ahead and assume I am never getting nominated now,” she adds.
