The “Red Table Talk” ladies are about to learn some serious lessons about psychology.
On Monday’s new episode, Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith and Adrienne Banfield Norris are joined by Dr. Ramani Durvasula, a psychologist, to talk self-obsession and narcissism.
“People pleasers are very vulnerable to narcissism,” Dr. Durvasula in a preview clip. “But they fall for it because they want to fix and they run around in circles and they keep giving that narcissist all the supply the narcissist wants. ‘You’re so great, I’m so lucky.'”
“Isn’t people pleasing part of just wanting to be accepted and liked?” Norris asks, to which Dr. Durvasula responds, “Why can’t you just be enough without doing all the effort?”
Willow then chimes in to admit, “Low key, I might have a little bit of that.”
“A lot of women do,” Durvasula explains. “But a lot of people, especially women, grow up believing they have to do to earn love.”
