“She came over, she played me the video. I’m so proud of her. She’s been through so much. I’ve watched so much happen in her life and had a front row seat to so much, and I’m so proud of her,” Swift shares.

The new ballad gives fans a peek into some of the most difficult times in the actress/singer’s life.

“In two months, you replaced us/Like it was easy/Made me think I deserved it/In the thick of healing,” some of the lyrics read.

“She is such a revelation because now she’s making her best stuff. I am 100 per cent convinced this is the best thing she’s done so far,” adds Swift. “Just from my perspective as her friend, I’ve just never been more proud. The things that she’s overcome, the situations that she’s risen above.”

The “You Need To Calm Down” songstress also reveals that after more that 10 years of friendship, she’s super “stoked” for what’s to come for her bestie.

“I’m really excited because when somebody has had great life experience, has had really tough things they’ve had to go through, and they can process that and make art that’s going to help other people, that’s what kind of song this is,” she says.

Swift also opens up about how she nabbed the role in the “Cats” film, saying that she’s always loved musical theatre.

“I’m so happy I got to do this. This was something that I was approached about and obviously I was like, ‘Okay it’s Cats. Yeah, I’ll do this.’ I have three cats. And also just, I really wanted to work with Tom Hooper,” she admits.

“I started out doing musical theatre as a kid. It’s what made me fall in love with performing as a medium,” shares the 29-year-old.

“So basically when I was approached this time, it was a straight up offer. And I love kitty cats and the situation just kept getting more interesting because I accepted the role. They show us this demo of this digital fur that they’re adding to us. And I was like, ‘Yes,'” the singer adds.
