Ewan McGregor is finally ready to talk about his upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series.
The actor, 48, chatted with Men’s Journal about the new “Star Wars” spin-off series, exclusively launching on Disney’s upcoming streaming service, revealing it’s a “massive relief” for it not to be a secret anymore.
“It’s a f**king massive relief,” he explained. “Because for four years, I’ve been having to lie to people about it.”

The Golden Globe-nominated actor starred in the early 2000s prequel “Star Wars” episodes as the fan-favourite Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi. When news broke of the Kenobi standalone series, fans were ecstatic.
“The storyline sits between ‘Episode III’ [‘Revenge of the Sith’] and ‘Episode IV’ [‘Star Wars’],” McGregor teased.
Adding, “It will be interesting to take a character we know in a way and show him — well, his arc will be quite interesting, I think, dealing with that the fact that all the Jedi were slaughtered with the end of ‘Episode III’. It’s quite something to get over.”
And he’s excited to become more like Alec Guinness, who played Kenobi in the original trilogy, “I want to get closer and closer to how Obi-Wan felt while Alec Guinness was playing him. I feel like I’m greyer and nearer him in age, so it’ll be easier to do that.”
The new series has yet to reveal a title or release date.
McGregor stars next in “Birds Of Prey”.
