It’s been years in the works, but fans will soon be seeing “Code 8”, the labour-of-love sci-fi movie from “Arrow” star Stephen Amell and cousin Robbie Amell (“The Flash”).
The duo first announced their ambitious plans for the film back in 2016, and set up an Indiegogo crowdfunding effort to raise cash for the project.
The gambit proved to be successful, with the cousins ultimately raising more than $3.1 million, enough to make the movie, and on Friday they released an action-packed new trailer for “Code 8”.
“In a world where four per cent of the population is born with varying supernatural abilities, a desperate young man possessing special powers clashes with a militarized police force after committing a series of crimes,” reads the synopsis for the film, which will be released on Dec. 13.

Garrett helps Connor learn how to hone is abilities in order to commit crimes on behalf of Sutcliffe, bringing him into the sights of a militarized police unit led by Agent Park (Sung Kang) and Agent Davis (Aaron Abrams), who will stop at nothing to bring him down.
