Val Chmerkovskiy has a bone to pick with Kanye West.
On Friday, Kanye dropped his highly-anticipated ninth studio album titled “Jesus Is King”. While fans have taken to his new gospel style music, “Dancing With the Stars” dancer Val Chmerkovskiy is not too happy with a song called “On God”.
In the track, West raps the line, “That’s why I charge the prices that I charge/ I can’t be out here dancing with the stars / No I cannot let my family starve / I go hard, that’s on God.”
In response to the lyric, Chmerkovskiy quickly took to Instagram to remind everyone that Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian, was once a contestant on the show.
In the video, Val can be seen dancing to the song until he hears the lyric, after which images of Kim Kardashian performing on “Dancing With the Stars” begin to appear.
“Yo Kanye, keep talking that smack about ‘Dancing With the Stars’ man,” he said. “You gonna catch this diss track. With some rhinestones on it.”
In another attempt to throw some shade at the rapper, Chmerkovskiy captioned the video, “That new Ye album got me in my feelings,” perhaps referencing a song by Drake, with whom West has long had issue
We’re ready for that diss track when you are, Val.
