Country crooner Jason Aldean’s rep confirmed he and his wife, Jessica Ussery, were having problems just last week and today People reports the couple is splitting.
It turns out Jason filed for divorce on April 26 in Williamson County, Tennessee, with the papers citing irreconcilable differences.
His rep told People a day prior to the filing: “I can confirm that Jason and his wife are having problems, but there is nothing more to share with the press at this time. It’s a private family matter, and we hope everyone will respect that he would like to keep it that way.”;
The singer and Jessica were married for 12 years and have two young daughters together.
They started having problems back in September 2012 when Jason was caught kissing “American Idol”; Season 11 contestant Brittany Kerr at an LA bar.
But, the couple seemed to have patched things up in November, with Jason revealing to CBS This Morning at the time: “I think we’re fine. I think anytime you go through anything like that – I mean it’s tough… We’ve been together for a long time and through a lot of things together. Those are things that most people get to deal with in private, but we didn’t have the luxury of doing that.”
