Louis Tomlinson hit out at former One Direction mate Zayn Malik in a new interview, insisting he “chatted a lot of s**t” after quitting the band in March 2015.

Tomlinson told the Metro when asked if he could ever forgive Malik, “I just don’t think I am mature enough, even in my own head, to give that a real answer.”

“At the moment, I am still pretty mad about the whole thing. I don’t think he [Zayn] handled it very well. But never say never. Who knows?

“He chatted a lot of s*** in the early days. I thought One Direction were pretty good.”

Malik didn’t shy away from revealing how he really felt after leaving the group.

He said in a previous interview with Fader: “There was never any room for me to experiment creatively in the band. [It was] generic as f**k.

“That’s not music that I would listen to. Would you listen to One Direction, sat at a party with your girl? I wouldn’t.”

Tomlinson is set to release his debut solo album, Walls, on January 31.
