Miranda Lambert is spilling the details on meeting her now-husband Brendan McLoughlin.
Speaking with the New York Times, the 35-year-old country star revealed she has her Pistol Annies bandmates, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, to thank for setting her up with the New York City police officer.
“I met my husband doing press for the Pistol Annies record, this time last year,” Lambert explained to the Times. “Our record came out the day after Halloween, and we did Good Morning America. My husband was doing security there for the show.”
The “It All Comes Out in the Wash” singer confessed her bandmates spotted McLoughlin and thought she would be ready to hang out with someone.
“They invited him to our show behind my back. They plucked him for me.”
But it was Lambert’s security guard who was also in on the setup: “My security guy Tom, he was in on it too. He said to me, ‘He’s here. And he’s pretty.’”
Two months after meeting on “Good Morning America”, the pair secretly tied the knot in January and Lambert revealed the news in a romantic Valentine’s Day Instagram post:
In a candid interview with People magazine, the country superstar spills the details on why she kept their wedding day under wraps.
“I was married before, and it was a huge wedding and everything was very public. So was my divorce.”
Her whirlwind romance with McLoughlin comes just a few years after Lambert’s divorce from fellow country star Blake Shelton in 2015, following four years of marriage.
“I learned then that it’s not for everybody else. This is my actual life. With Brendan, I made it a point to keep it as private as I could for as long as I could,” she reveals to People.
Along with continuing her “Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars” tour, the singer is getting ready for the Nov. 1 release of her seventh studio album, Wildcard.
Lambert is also up for Female Vocalist of the Year at this year’s CMA Awards on November 13.
