As wildfires rage on the outskirts of Los Angeles, life goes on.

That’s especially true for the families of firefighters and first responders who continue to deal with the fires, with 12 firefighter families welcoming new babies since the devastating Carr fire in summer 2018.

To offer their thanks for providing this life-saving service, husband-and-wife stars Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard teamed up with plant-based diaper brand Hello Bello and visited some of the first responders at Fire Station 8 in Redding, California, gifting them with a year’s supply of diapers and other baby essentials.

“Last July, the Carr fire hit the city of Redding. The devastations burned over 229,000 acres and 1,000 structures were lost. There were 8 fatalities, including their Fire Inspector, Jeremy Stoke,” the couple wrote in a post on the Hello Bello Instagram account.

“Since then, 12 of the firefighter families from Redding brought 15 babies into the world. We surprised the Redding team at Station 8 with a Hello Bello playdate,” the couple continued. “We wanted to try and help lighten their load with lots of family and baby essentials AND announced that starting today, we’re giving a 20% discount to ALL First Responders nationwide. Thank you First Responders and thank you to your families. It was an honour to share the day with you.”
