P!nk is taking a trip through her incredible career.
The singer is on the new cover of Billboard magazine; inside she discusses her current tour and going down memory lane.
In a video for the magazine, P!nk also watches clips of some of her most iconic moments from throughout her career, including her first-ever music video and he 2010 Grammys performance.
“I think this is the prettiest I’ve ever looked and will ever look,” she says of her bright pink hairdo in the video for 2000’s “There You Go”.
In the cover story, the 40-year-old says of her career, “This is the longest-running fluke in history. And I’m into it.”
Looking back on her early arena tours through Europe and Australia in 2004, P!nk admits, “I didn’t care what it looked like, I didn’t care what I was making, I wanted to play.
“Because you can play arenas and get used to that, but can you play a club?” she adds. “Can you get back to the roots of the sweat and the cigarette smoke and f**king rock out?
For all her success, though, P!nk still feels like she’s an outsider in pop music.
“I’m in that weird in-between place, but I’ve always been in that weird place,” she says. “Even when it was me, Britney, Christina, and Jessica Simpson, no one really knew what to do with me.”
Meanwhile, she admits that being on a long world tour while being a mother has been difficult.
“There have been many times when I have been sitting in the corner of arena bathrooms crying and saying to myself, ‘There’s a reason why women don’t do this, there’s a reason why moms don’t do this,’ because it’s f**king impossible at times,” P!nk says.
That said, P!nk still feels like the future is still wide open for her career.
“I’ve never had a plan. This was a dream that got away from me. I’ll do whatever,” she says. “I’ll open for Justin Timberlake again, I don’t give a s**t.”
