After two tumultuous years of marriage, it’s all over between Jenelle Evans and David Eason.
On Thursday, the 27-year-old “Teen Mom 2” alum took to Instagram to announce that she and Eason, 31, were calling it quits.
Telling her followers that she’s been laying low from social media for a while, she explained the reason was because she was “focused on making some big life decisions.”

The mother of three admitted that she’s “lived my life life on camera since I was 17,” and now that she’s had time away from the MTV reality show she’s “started to look at my life differently and I know I need to make changes.”
The biggest change, she revealed, is that she and her children “have moved away from David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know that’s what is best for me, and for my kids.”
Underscoring how serious she is about the split, she added: “Today I’ve filed papers to start that process.”
Evans and Eason share 2-year-old daughter Ensley, while she also shares son Kaiser, 5, with ex Nathan Griffith, while she and Andrew Lewis share her first child, 10-year-old Jace; Eason also has a child from a previous relationship, 12-year-old daughter Maryssa.
The past two years have been rough ones for Evans, who was fired from “Teen Mom 2” in February 2018 and subsequently reports of spousal abuse when she was hospitalized after police were called to the couple’s home.
In May 2019, the couple reportedly separated after he allegedly shot and killed the family dog after claiming the animal bit Ensley; Evans then lost custody of her children in May, regaining custody in July.

The couple later reconciled, with Evans claiming their marriage had actually strengthened since he killed the dog.
“Now that we are getting over this incident our relationship has got a lot stronger,” she said via Instagram Story.
