Ellen DeGeneres is set to receive the Carol Burnett Award at the 77th annual Golden Globes, it’s been announced.

The beloved talk-show host will be the second celebrity, the first after Burnett herself, to receive the honour.

The three-time Golden Globe nominee will accept the award at the ceremony on January 5, 2020.

“The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is delighted to honour Ellen DeGeneres with the Carol Burnett Award,” said Lorenzo Soria, president of the HFPA.

“From her sitcoms, to standup, to becoming a household staple on daytime television, she is a pioneer who has captivated audiences for nearly 25 years with her undeniable charm and wit.”
