On Sunday, Jason Foster tweeted a photo of his son Kade, decked out in a Leafs shirt and standing in front of a Leafs cake, writing that none of his friends showed up for his birthday party.
The official Maple Leafs Twitter account saw the tweet and wished Kade a happy birthday.
Leafs forwards Mitch Marner and John Tavares also sent Kade their birthday wishes.
Soon enough, Leafs players, fans, and other personalities were on Twitter wishing Kade a happy birthday, including Auston Matthews, Justin Trudeau, Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr., actor Ben Stiller, and more.
Following that outpouring of Twitter support, the youngster received the best birthday present ever when the Leafs invited him to participate in the team’s morning skate on Saturday.
