The series will centre on a 13-year-old boy whose mom helps him start his own junior hockey team after he’s kicked off his own.
Emilio Estevez starred in the original 1992 film as a lawyer forced to coach a kids hockey team as community service after a drunk driving arrest. The movie spawned two sequels, and led to the naming of the NHL team the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, later renamed the Anaheim Ducks.
Production on the new series is reportedly scheduled to begin in February 2020.
