Disney and Pixar are asking some deep questions in the first look at the upcoming animated feature “Soul”.
“What do you want to be remembered for?” the voiceover asks in the trailer, making us question our very existence.
Jamie Foxx provides the voice of Joe Gardner, a musician who has lost his passion for music. Joe is transported out of his body with the help of an infant soul (Tina Fey) who is just learning about herself.

No need to worry, the official company line says Joe isn’t dead, just having an out-of-body experience. Think of it as a spiritual sequel to “Inside Out”, which took a look at a young girl’s inner thoughts and feelings.
Featuring a voice cast that also includes Daveed Diggs, Phylicia Rashad, Questlove and John Ratzenberger, “Soul” is one of two Pixar movies heading to the big screen in 2020. It will arrive in theatres on June 19 while the animated elf adventure “Onward” opens March 6.
