Christian Bale Is ‘Done With’ Extreme Weight Drops And Gains For Movie Roles

Don’t expect many extreme physical transformations from Christian Bale going forward.

In an interview set to air Sunday on “CBS This Morning”, the “Ford v Ferrari” star sits down alongside co-star Matt Damon to talk about the new, true-life drama.

During the interview, Bale is asked about losing 70 pounds to go from playing Dick Cheney to racecar driver Ken Hill.

“I keep saying I’m done with it,” Bale says. “I really think I’m done with it, yeah.”

Damon, though, was very impressed with the weight loss.

“I had a great time watching him,” Damon says. “He’s got an – incredible monk-like discipline.”

Bale also talks about his excitement over working with Damon on the film.

“I am very grateful to Matt because I wouldn’t have a career if it wasn’t for roles he passed on,” he says. “There are many roles where I was told, ‘Oh, well, Matt doesn’t want to do it. So they went, ugh, all right, what about Bale?’ And then I got the role. So thank you for that, Matt.”
