Whitney Houston’s best friend Robyn Crawford is speaking out about her time with the music icon, even refuting recent claims that Dee Dee Warwick molested Houston.
In her new book, A Song For You: My Life with Whitney Houston, Crawford looks back at her longtime friendship with Houston.
And despite refusing to speak out about the “I Will Always Love You” singer for years, Crawford decided to clear up some inaccuracies.
“Over the years the more I would hear people talking about her career, the more it was inaccurate,” she told People magazine of the book. “The negativity really bothered me. I came to a point where I felt I should say something. I felt an urgency to stand up and share the woman behind the incredible talent.”
But the book even clears the air about her cousins Dee Dee and Dionne Warwick, specifically the claims from the 2018 documentary “Whitney” that Dee Dee had molested her.
“Whitney loved Dee Dee,” says Crawford. “She was very close to the Warwick family. Both before all of her success — and during.”
“She and I talked a lot about our families,” Crawford continued. “She shared everything with me about her family, as I did mine. If that was true, I would have known about it. She would have told me.”
