“Midway” took over the box office this weekend.
The Roland Emmerich-directed WWII film is estimated to bring in $20.05 million for the 4-day holiday weekend through Monday.
The movie stars Patrick Wilson, Woody Harrelson, Mandy Moore, Ed Skrein, Darren Criss and Nick Jonas.
“The Shining” sequel “Doctor Sleep” came in at second place with $14.1 million, which is quite a bit below the predicted $25 million.
Other movies opening this weekend included “Playing With Fire” with $12.5 million and “Last Christmas” which debuted at $11.6 million.
