“Joker” may have been a very adult comic book movie, but the scenes left on the cutting room floor were apparently even more intense.
Speaking at the SBIFF Cinema Society, director Todd Phillips talked about one particular scene he had to cut just to keep his R-rating.
He said that among the scenes cut was “one that is amazing in a bathtub, but I don’t think we can actually include it in an R-rated movie and it’s not because it was pornographic, it was just insane.”
Fans shouldn’t get their hopes up about seeing the bathtub scene in question, though.
“There’s plenty of deleted scenes, yeah, but they’re not going to be on the DVD. I don’t do deleted scenes,” Phillips told Collider last month.
