Jennifer Lopez and Robert Pattinson make for the perfect unlikely duo.
The two stars are featured in the latest episode of Variety‘s “Actors on Actors”, discussing their films “Hustlers” and “The Lighthouse”, the Super Bowl halftime show, and much more.
“I don’t know anything about football. So, you’re playing at the Super Bowl?” Pattinson asks.
“I am excited,” Lopez responds. “I think there’s not a musical artist in the world that doesn’t dream of performing at the Super Bowl.”
Asked about her plans, Lopez says, “I’m putting it together now. Me and Shakira together. We’re both excited to have been given the opportunity to do that, as two Latin women, in Miami.
“I think it’s important in this day and age for two Latin women to be standing on that stage — when Latinos are being treated a certain way in this country, or looked at a certain way — to show that we have a really specific and beautiful culture and worth and value, and we bring something to this country that’s necessary,” she adds. “I think that’s going to be an amazing moment. That night, I want it to be a celebration of who we are. All of us, because we’re in this together. That’s how I feel. I want to bring everybody together in that moment.”
During the conversation, Lopez asks why Pattinson decided to take the role of Batman in the upcoming reboot.
“With ‘Batman’, there was something — I was very focused on it. It kept coming back into my head,” Pattinson explains.

Asked whether he specifically sought out the role, the actor says, “Well, not sought it out directly. But I was interested in it. I don’t know what it is, which happened inside of me, but I was like, ‘I kind of want to do it.’ I like doing something which an audience doesn’t know that it wants, and try to get it out of them: ‘Oh yeah, you want to play Batman.’”
“You’re going to be Batman,” Lopez says, to which Pattinson responds, “And that’s crazy! Let me tell you something. Whenever I see that little action figure, I still haven’t really got my head around it yet.”
Lopez adds, “I think you’d be a great Batman. An awesome Batman.”
“You would be as well,” Pattinson tells her.
“I could be Batman. Why not?” Lopez muses. “I think as an actor, it would be fun to explore.”
