Richie Sambora’s been AWOL from the Bon Jovi world tour since he called it quits just before the bands Calgary stop on April 2nd. Jon Bon Jovi surprised the Cowtown crowd, when he took to the stage and announced: “I had two choices: pack up and go home or give you everything I got … Richie Sambora won’t be performing for a while. If there’s ever a night I need you, it’s tonight, Calgary!”;
Although the band’s official statement said the guitarist had to take a leave of absence for personal reasons, rumours have been swirling that Richie and longtime pal, Jon had a falling out.
Despite all the whispers, Jon not only hit the Ellen show to tell fans Richie was “absolutely”; still part of the band. And in their latest video for What About Now, Sambora’s still front and centre.
The live performance based vid, for the title track from the band’s 12th studio album, features all members rocking out together on-stage and singing along to lines like: “You wanna start a fight, you gotta take a swing. You gotta get your hands in the dirt, to see what the harvest will bring.”;
