Elizabeth Banks is “proud” of “Charlie’s Angels” despite its opening weekend flop.
The actress, who is behind the rebooted version of the 1976 television series as director, writer, producer and star, took to Twitter to address the box office’s low numbers.
The flick made a mere $8.6 million in ticket sales over its first three days in its wide release but according to E! News, the film was projected to earn in the $12-$15 million range.
“Well, if you’re going to have a flop, make sure your name is on it at least 4x,” Banks tweeted. “I’m proud of #CharliesAngels and happy it’s in the world.”
“Charlie’s Angels” stars Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska as the trio of spies with Banks and Noah Centino in supporting roles.
“Charlie’s Angels” is on big screens now.
