Carrie Underwood has just released the accompanying visuals for her new country-jazz single “Drinking Alone”.

Days after delivering a sultry performance of the track at the 2019 CMA Awards, the singer finds herself in a dark jazz club while singing about pouring whiskey to numb a heartache in the new video.

“Tonight all I need is a stranger / Lips with a whiskey chaser / And a corner booth kiss / To make me forget that he’s gone / We should be drinking alone,” she sings, while locking eyes with a man across the room.

Directed by Underwood’s frequent collaborator Randee St. Nicholas, the steamy clip later finds Underwood imagining herself cozied up to the man in a booth while enjoying a cocktail together.

“Drinking Alone” is the fourth single off her 2018 album Cry Pretty. The single follows the massive success of her infectious summer anthem “Southbound”, which became her 27th career No. 1 single.
