Susan Sarandon is sharing new pictures of her bruised face after a slip and fall last week.
On Friday, the Oscar-winning actress took to Twitter to share dramatic photos of her face, captioning the pictures “A little slip.” In the images, Sarandon, 73, has a large bump on her forehead, a black eye and a swollen nose.
Sarandon shared another update on her bruised eye on Tuesday, writing that she’s thankful for her healthcare coverage.
“I’m lucky. I have Medicare to cover my visit to the ER,” adding that “everyone deserves the same” and including the hashtag #Bernie2020. Her injury kept her from attending a rally for Bernie Sanders in New Hampshire over the weekend.
Along with the photos, the actress explained that though she was not able to stump for Sanders over the weekend, she is sharing parts of her prepared speech.
Referencing U.S. border detainment, the “unjust, racist” prison system, education, debt, climate change as well as racism, transphobia, Islamaphobia and homophobia, Sarandon cites Sanders’ history of fighting for “social, racial and economic justice”.
“Now it’s time for us to fight for him,” she concludes.
