The list of celebs who have been arrested while protesting as part of Fire Drill Fridays is continuing to grow.
Jane Fonda has become the honourary face of the weekly climate change demonstrations that take place on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., with each week bringing a new set of famous faces.
For the seventh week in a row, Fonda was joined by other celebrities at the protests. Diane Lane, Piper Perabo, Manny Jacinto and Amber Valletta joined in this Friday. While Fonda and Jacinto avoided arrest, Lane, Perabo and Valletta were taken away in handcuffs.
As Lane was arrested she yelled “show up for climate,” before the police put her in a vehicle.
Fonda has been avoiding arrest for the last few weeks, after spending a night in jail when she was arrested for the fourth time – as the stay could be up to 30 days if she is nabbed again by police. However, her lawyer confirmed earlier this week that the D.C. Attorney General’s office has declined to charge Fonda.
Other stars to join in during previous weeks included Marg Helgenberger, Rosanna Arquette and Ted Danson.
