Matthew Lewis expertly trolled the Twitterverse by announcing a “new Harry Potter film” featuring the original cast was to begin filming next year.

The actor, who played Neville Longbottom in the franchise, had fans racing to click on the link only to discover that there is no sequel in the works.

While the move may seem more like something a Slytherin would pull, Lewis’ move was pure Gryffindor — the link was to a government site for registration in the U.K.’s next general election on December 12.

The tweet has earned over 17,000 retweets and 55,000 likes and counting.

While the tweet led to ample confusion from people who live outside the U.K. or didn’t click on the link for “details”, most were cool with the move, congratulating Lewis on a well-played tweet, with some joking the action deserves to be awarded with some house points for Gryffindor.
