Ginger Zee is clapping back at a clueless Twitter follower who congratulated her on her pregnancy — because she’s not pregnant.
On Tuesday, the ABC News meteorologist, 38, received a message from a fan who said the gold dress she wore on the air “shows it,” and offered congratulations.
“Yes!” Zee tweeted back. “I’m due in a month!!! So glad you asked.”
She received a response from fellow NYC television personality Karen Rogers, who told her it’s “awful to be scrutinized when you’re doing your job so beautifully,” adding, “People listen up… unless you’re her husband, asking a woman if she’s pregnant is NEVER OK!”
“I wish I didn’t have that seed of anorexia that still tells me lies — I’m constantly keeping it muted but this challenges me,” Zee tweeted in response. “Thank you for your support.”
Zee went public about her struggles with anorexia in 2017 while she was competing on “Dancing With the Stars”. As she told Glamour at the time, she kept it a secret for years “because anorexia is about lying to yourself and a lot about lying to other people. But now I’m saying, ‘Here it is.’ I wish I could go back, but I can’t. The best thing I can do is just go forward.”
