Things get pretty awkward during Dakota Johnson’s “Ellen DeGeneres Show” interview Wednesday.

DeGeneres asks Johnson about not being invited to her 30th birthday party last month, with the actress insisting she was, she just didn’t go.

The host then asks, “Tig Notaro performed at your party? What did she do?” to which Johnson replies: “She did, it was a surprise! [She did] a bunch of funny stuff. She’s my favourite comedian…”

Johnson swiftly adds, “Other than you,” before jokingly saying “bye” and walking off the stage.

As the “Fifty Shades” actress apologized, DeGeneres says: “No, no. I was just talking to my favourite actress the other day, Jennifer Aniston.”

DeGeneres also points out that Notaro performed at her birthday bash, which is where Johnson probably first met her.

And that’s not all, the host even tries to talk to Johnson about her boyfriend Chris Martin performing at Gorillapalooza.

However, not one to chat publicly about her private life, Johnson shuts down the question pretty quickly.

See her and her co-star Zack Gottsagen also talk about their new film “The Peanut Butter Falcon” below.
