Miley Cyrus is bringing the mullet back.
The hairdo is poised for a big return in 2020 and Cyrus knows all too well about business in the front and party in the back – thanks to her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
The songstress, 27, revealed her new hairstyle on Instagram and not every fan is impressed.
In fact, a number of the “Malibu” singer’s followers threw shade at her hairdresser, Sally Hershberger, for this transformation.
“This is the worst haircut I’ve ever laid my eyes on you call yourself a hairstylist?” one user wrote, per Cosmopolitan. “Now this is gonna be all over TMZ and the news, plus the locals that don’t like Miley are gonna think she’s going through a meltdown again.”
Hershberger actually clapped back at the fan.
“First of all if you knew anything about hair, it’s the position she’s in that’s why it looks that way, it’s 100 per cent even and she also had it straightened so it’s more severe, which I actually like,” Hershberger wrote.
“That being said, chill out and know it’s a modern mullet,” she added. “Which is very cool but it’s something you probably aren’t even well-versed in sorry but not sorry 😂.”
The Cyrus superfan failed to realize that Hershberger was not even the one originally responsible for the haircut. Cyrus’ mom, Tish, actually gave the singer her haircut, Hershberger simply came in for the touchups.
What is most important, arguably, is how Cyrus feels about her hair.
“It runs in the family,” Cyrus wrote when retweeting an article comparing her hair to legends like David Bowie and Joan Jett.
