Hilary Duff discusses her music career and whether she has plans for future releases in a new interview with Elle.

Duff, 32, says, when asked about releasing more music: “I always get this question and I feel so bad for [being] like, ‘No, I’m not doing anything right now.’ I feel like I’m going to have a music career forever and who knows how successful it’ll be or what kind of turns it’s going to take.

“Music is such an important part of my life and has always been a big outlet for me. Having Matt [Koma, her fiancé] living at my house, I feel like I could always be like, ‘I want to make a record,’ and he’s like, ‘Oh God, okay, let’s go.’ He’s so supportive and talented. I don’t want to say never, but there’s nothing in the works right now.”

The “Lizzie McGuire” actress is then asked about whether there’s any song in particular that she reflects on, or that people ask her about the most.

Duff tells the mag, “That’s a hard one for me. Obviously the diehards love Metamorphosis and then a lot of people are also like, ‘Breathe In. Breathe Out. was such a good record, it was so underrated.’ It’s so funny because you never know what’s going to happen. I really have amazing fans that pay attention to what I say and have stuck it out with me through a very long career.”

She adds that there’s one song called “Shine” that she sings to her seven-year-old son Luca.

“It wasn’t a single or anything, but I’ve noticed that I’ve been singing it to Luca a lot at night when he’s going to bed. It’s such a sweet song and I remember loving to perform that live. It was on my self-titled record.”
