A scene in the finale of “Game of Thrones” has sparked debate among fans and the series’ showrunner is finally clearing it all up.
After Daenerys’ (Emilia Clarke) descent into tyrannical madness, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) saves the realm by murdering her.
Immediately after, her sole surviving dragon, Drogon, picks up her lifeless corpse and flies off with it to parts unknown.

This left fans to wonder just exactly what the dragon had planned for Dany’s body, with some theorizing Drogon would ultimately have her for a snack.
However, “GoT” showrunner David Benioff is here to say that definitely did not happen.
As part of season eight’s release on DVD and Blu-ray, in an accompanying making-of documentary about the series finale, Benioff confirmed that Drogon did not eat Dany’s body.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Benioff addresses the theory in the new season-eight blu-ray release during a commentary conversation with Clarke.
When the actress points out fans told her that dragons will eat their masters, Benioff assured her, “Drogon’s not going to eat you. He’s not a cat. Did you see how gently he was nudging you?”
Benioff also explains why Drogon melted the Iron Throne after Dany’s death. “If [Daenerys is] not going to sit on it, no one’s going to sit on it,” he said.
The final season of “Game of Thrones” will be released on blu-ray and DVD on Dec. 3.
