Leah Remini is taking aim at Beck over the latter’s affiliation with Scientology.
Remini, a former Scientologist, has been going for the organization’s throat ever since she starred in the A&E reality series “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath”.
Beck, who has claimed to be Scientologist in the past, denied such claims in a recent interview with The Sydney Morning Herald.
“I think there’s a misconception that I am a Scientologist. I’m not a Scientologist,” Beck said. “I don’t have any connection or affiliation with it.”
“My father has been a Scientologist for a long time,” the Grammy-winning singer continued. “But I’ve pretty much just focused on my music and my work for most of my life, and tended to do my own thing.”
That conflicts statement Beck has made in the past. “Yeah, I’m a Scientologist,” he told the Irish Sunday Tribune in 2005. Additionally, his estranged wife, Marissa Ribisi, is a noted Scientologist as are her brother and sister.
Remini completely shut Beck down in a podcast for “The Underground Bunker”.
“You can’t be married to a Scientology family such as the Ribisi family and not be fully on board,” she argued. “To say that he was more focused on his thing and the press just ran with it is a p**sy move.”
“This is his way of not publicly stating that he was very much in and now he’s not,” Remini concluded.
