Dwyane Wade is clapping back at some nasty comments directed toward his son after wife Gabrielle Union shared a sweet family photo on Thanksgiving.

In the photo, the former NBA star and Union pose on a staircase with their daughter, Kaavia, and Wade’s son from a previous relationship, Zion.

“Happy Thanksgiving good people. To all the friends and family that have my back and all the friends and family I’ve never met who show love and support when everyone is looking and when no one is looking,” wrote Union to accompany the photo. “All praise, gratitude and thankfulness.”

Union’s post received numerous comments, including shoutouts from celeb friends such as Essence Atkins, Sophia Bush, Kerry Washington, Terry Crews and Olivia Munn.

Not all the comments were positive, however. For some who saw the photo, the takeaway wasn’t a loving family gathered together for the holiday, but the fact that Zion, 12, was wearing long fake nails on his fingers, and sported a belly-baring crop top.

Wade, however, took to Twitter to shut down the haters.

I’ve seen some post-thanksgiving hate on social about my family photo,” he wrote. “Stupidity is apart of this world we live in — so i get it. But here’s the thing — I’ve been chosen to lead my family not y’all. So we will continue to be us and support each other with pride, love & a smile!”

He followed up by responding to a couple of comments to his Twitter post:
