Cha In-ha, a Korean actor whose credits include “The Banker” and “Clean With Passion for Now”, has reportedly died. He was 27.
In-ha was found dead at his home on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.
“We feel devastated to deliver such heartbreaking and unfortunate news. On December 3, actor Cha In-ha left our sides,” a statement from In-ha’s management agency, Fantagio, reads. “We are truly heartbroken to deliver sad news to everyone who has sent lots of love and support to Cha In Ha until now. We are filled with grief at this news that is still hard to believe.”
“We earnestly ask for rumours to not be spread and for speculative reports to not be released in order for his family, who is experiencing greater sadness more than anyone due to the sudden sad news, to send him away peacefully,” the statement continues. “As wished by his family, the funeral will be held privately.”
Just one day before his death, In-ha posted a series of photos to Instagram, in which he was sitting at a table, looking at his phone and drinking what appears to be tea from a white mug.
The cause of death has yet to be revealed. ET has reached out to In-ha’s rep for comment.
South Korea’s entertainment industry has been rocked with tragedy this year. Just last month, K-pop star and TV celebrity Goo Hara was found dead at her home in Seoul at the age of 28, just weeks after Sulli — another K-pop star and actress — was found dead at her home near Seoul.
